I have a few trees in the near future I need to cut down and they are off grid areas. I am looking at using tree spikes to get to the branches but will need other things as well to secure myself to the tree while cutting. The tress range in diameter from 24" to 48", maybe smaller or larger. It's not practical to hire out the jobs. I will be setting up hunting platforms and topping trees. I have a concern with a crane on our project using a wedge socket upside down. I have never seen someone use it in this manner.
