Yes. This 1/2" double braid polyester pulling rope will work fine on a capstan winch, provided the capstan is rated for 1/2" rope. Double braid polyester grips the drum well, has low stretch, and holds up to the heat and wear of capstan pulls. We're not positioning it as a replacement for any name-brand winch line, but if the question is simply whether it will be serviceable on a capstan, the answer is yes. Always keep your working load well under the 8,400 lb breaking strength.
