The Crosby IPBCNS beam clamp is designed for lifting wide-flange beams and plate girders with the beam web maintained in a vertical position. According to the manufacturer’s load diagram, the lifting connection may be positioned up to 15° from vertical in either direction.
The clamp should be properly centered and balanced on the beam, and the manufacturer instructs users to control the beam throughout the lift and address the specific requirements of each lifting situation before proceeding. For applications involving an angle greater than the manufacturer’s specified range or significant horizontal loading, we recommend consulting Crosby or a qualified engineer before use.
