In short, yes—but this block is designed for wire rope, and the rougher steel sheave can increase friction and wear on synthetic rope. Arborist blocks, by comparison, are built for soft rope with smooth aluminum sheaves that reduce friction and dissipate heat.
If you use it with synthetic rope, inspect for burrs or sharp edges and smooth them out. Also, do not use the block for both wire rope and synthetic rope—wire rope will create wear that can quickly damage soft rope.
