The Kong Tango carabiner has a stated major-axis breaking strength of 33 kN (7,419 lbs). This number represents the minimum breaking strength, not a published Working Load Limit (WLL). Unlike rigging hardware, carabiners used in climbing and fall protection are not assigned a WLL by the manufacturer or governing standards.
That said, if you apply common industry safety factors:
- A 10:1 factor (more conservative, often referenced in climbing/life safety) would yield an equivalent of ~742 lbs.
- A 5:1 factor (common in rigging hardware) would yield ~1,484 lbs.
