This is a below-the-hook lifting device designed in accordance with ASME B30.20 and ASME BTH-1. Therefore, it requires proof testing to 1.25 times the rated capacity. Testing up to 1.5 times the rated capacity is also acceptable if required by your internal requirements or procedures.
The proof test can be performed by either:
-
Placing a known test weight evenly across the floor of the device and lifting, or
-
Using slings in a basket configuration across the floor of the device, attaching to a known test weight, and lifting with a load cell at the top connection point to verify when the required test load is reached.
