The Working Load Limit (WLL) is ultimately determined by the end user, based on applicable laws and best practices for their application. As a general guideline, a 5:1 safety factor is considered the minimum, calculated from the rope’s stated breaking strength. For this rope, 7,300 ÷ 5 = 1,460 lbs WLL. Some applications—particularly where safety is critical—may require a higher safety factor, such as 10:1.
