What is the shortest and longest working length for this binder? How far out can you unscrew the hooks?

When closed, measuring from the bearing point of each hook, the length is about 22.5". This binder has approximately 8" of take-up, although to allow for full thread engagement, you may wish to extend the hooks only 7.5" or so. This would result in an open length of 30".
