Why is this item so much less expensive than most of your other shackles for the same WLL? I plan to use two of these to connect trailer safety chains to my Ford F250 pickup truck. The trailer I am towing is rated at 7,000 lbs. Are these suitable for that application?

These shackles are imported, and while they are still of a very high quality, they simply cost much less than USA brands like Crosby, CM or Skookum. That said, they should have more than enough capacity for use with your trailer safety chains.
