Can the pin be removed to use on an existing 1/2" aircraft steel wire cable?

The pin can be removed from the RP144, but when the nut on the end is taken off it will not retain the locking function so you will need to put a new lock nut on. Please note that modifying the product in any way from its original design will shift liability from the manufacturer to you.
