What is the size of this spring? Looking to fit an old Magic Shear tree pruner.

My spring coils only is 1-1/2 inches long. The company sent this but it is too long to fit. I am wondering if #40404 spring is smaller. Remember I am only measuring the coils not the two end connections that stick out to attach to tool.
