What is the difference between the red and black handle saw and the green and black handle saw?

The real difference is the blade. The green handle saw (Ichiban) has a superior blade that should cut faster and last longer, and this is reflected in the price. Still, the red handle saw (Ichigeki) is far more popular, probably because you can almost buy two for the price of one by comparison. We find both saws perform well, but if you want a true high-quality saw blade, the Ichiban is your best choice.
