Why cant the footplates be used with aluminum climbers?

That note is included in the Buckingham literature because their aluminum climbers do not have the same width/dimension as their steel climbers. So if you wanted to order these climber plates for use with Buckingham's aluminum spurs, you would want to order #350331 (not a product we offer online, but we'd be happy to special order it for you).
