Will the cutter on this tool work properly to cut cable as it should?

Yes and no. The cutter will indeed cut, but these cutters are not designed for frequent use, and they're not suited well for larger diameters. We recommend using a dedicated cutter and a dedicated swager if you have a large volume of work.
