While not necessarily intended for this use, it should work fine, and certainly you will see a big variety of ropes used for mooring. It depends on the size of the boat, of course, and how many tie down points are in use. One major difference is PolyPlus will stretch a maximum of 15% prior to breaking, while a nylon rope will be closer to 22%. The stretch property of nylon is one reason it's favored for mooring.
