The red lever is designed to keep the clamp locked open and/or closed. It does not automatically release based on the load being applied.
Do these clamps automatically release when the weight of the load is removed, i.e. a sheet is set on a surface in the vertical position? Does the red lever lock the clamp in place after the load is applied to the chain? Terrier 0.5 TNMK Non-Marring Lifting Clamp - #862035
